We are starting to look at all of the government grant and stimulus money tied to green and clean energy. We are going to have a methane digester, solar and wind power on site so green energy should be a easy category to find applicable funding sources for. We will also be at least twice as efficient as a traditional building so we should be able to get some efficiency dollars as well. And lastly we will be taking a block off the storm water lines so there should be some water money in the mix.

We need to start to check out lending terms and find a lending partner. Bank of America, The Reinvestment Fund, PNC are a few of the places we need to check out.

We have a developer, architect and builder
Onion flats, Blox, Plumbob and Jig. But they think our initial estimate for the building may be low. We are going to have to increase our fundraising projection from 1 to 2 million. Ouch
But this will help with the City and L&I.
Again we need a Donor

Going to discuss three things
The P2O project
Greenworks Philadelphia
Could you support the project: write a letter of support for the project and call the City’s Deputy Mayor and PIDC to let them know you would like to have this project get green light
Let’s hope it goes well

We may have underestimated the revenue we could get from the farm and the compost pile
SPIN site (http://www.spinfarming.com/). this revenue generation can occur in a very short time frame, starting with the first growing season.
Any composting operation (demo and/or operational) can be positioned in this proposal as a service to the city. Taking an entire city block off the garbage (kitchen, yard waste) map is going to grab the attention/imagination of city officials looking at ways to trim their budgets and score green points. Residents could join for a small fee. We discussed coupons, but a few of the gardeners think people would be willing to pay. Also Philly compost has several commercial customers in the area that needs 50lb pickups 5 times a week; whole foods, local restaurants, etc..

We need some help in creating a buzz with local corporate leaders, politicians, and funders. We need a short burst of energy to get through the a grant and partner finding cycle. We have quite a few resources to leverage and can get interns if that would help. Contact us if you are interested.
